Everything at our house has really been busy the last couple of weeks. Thanks to our DVR I am able to record Rachael’s show and watch it later. The only thing is I am about a week behind. I sure hope that I get caught up this week. Don’t you just love her bottom of the jar recipes? I would never think to do that.
Can you believe that it is only 70 days until Christmas. Have you seen Paula Deen’s new Christmas magazine? I bought it last night. I think I’m going to be making the Half-A-Million dollar pie. It really looks good, it has mandarin oranges, pineapple, pecans and sweetened condensed milk. You can never go wrong with condensed milk.

Whoa! What a busy week, and we are headed for another busy one. It’s spirit week at our girls school. Just in case you don’t know what that is, it is like homecoming for middle school. So, everyday they have a theme that they have to dress for.  They will be judged everyday to see who has the best costume for the day. It is very important that everything is just right for this big week.Â

I am so busy with our girls. They are involved in Cheer leading at their middle school. They have games twice a week. Of, course fall is right around the corner. I have been trying to fit some crafting into my busy schedule. I want to cross stitch Christmas ornaments. I take my cross stitch where ever I go. It is kind of relaxing for me, and it is something that I can lay down anytime and get back to later. I get to wrapped up in the games to get any done.  I know this seems a little early to be worrying about this but, you know the holidays are right around the corner.

Well today was a great day to clean out and organize my sewing area. You see I was off from work today due to T.S. Ernesto. No real serious threat to us but, we all stayed home out of the weather and caught up on things around the house. Now with my sewing room organized I am ready for the fall season to start. My girls always want a Halloween costume made for them. Of course, I tell them that they can always wear the one from last year then turn around and make them one. You know at 13 and 14 they want to look good…

I am a first time blogger. I like to cook, do scrap booking, sew and other things around the house. I work full time outside of my home so, I don’t always have the time to do the things I like to do. My family and I always try and sit down together for dinner and discuss the day. I am always looking for simple and quick meals to serve because, both of our girls are in middle school and are very busy with cheerleading, chorus and other activities. Having some meals that are quick and easy are a must.
